Kerala Sadya Lunch

The Sadya feast is a celebration of the harvest festival called Onam.

Sadya, a traditional Kerala meal prepared during the festival of Onam- vegetarian dishes served on a banana leaf, the food does not stop flowing. From okra, beets, green plantains, pumpkins, ivy gourd, cabbage, lentils,  served with Kerala red rice and an addictive assortment of ginger/lime achars, Asha's home made ghee, crunchy pappadums, and so much more...this meal is a singular culinary experience like no other. Traditionally, the meal is eaten with the hands solidifying each diner's connection with the food and the experience of dining as a community endeavor. I served this feast for as small as 12 guests to over 200, and each time it's been a way of fostering connections between the chef and the diner.
